Swear to god, some guys are terrified that girls are faking common interests to impress them and act really hostile towards anyone they even SUSPECT of doing such a thing

but then they turn around and fake a whole friendship in the hopes of getting sex out of girls, and get mad at them when it doesn’t work

and they super do not see the irony in that

MYTHOLOGY MEME(2/4) Titans

In Greek mythology, ATLAS is the personified quality of endurance. In one tradition, Atlas led the Titanes in a rebellion against Zeus and was condemned to bear the heavens upon his shoulders. In another, he was said to have been appointed guardian of the pillars which held earth and sky asunder. He was also the god who instructed mankind in the art of astronomy, a tool which was used by sailors in navigation and farmers in measuring the seasons. These roles were often combined and Atlas becomes the god who turns the heaven on their axis, causing the stars to revolve.

A Nazi-looted painting of St. Catherine of Alexandria by Bernardo Strozzi was returned to its owner on Friday 22 November. She has placed it on view at the Los Angeles County Museum of Art and has promised to donate it to LACMA. Painted by Strozzi around 1615, the saint was in the collection of Charles A. Loeser (d. 1928) in Florence. Loeser’s widow and heirs fled Florence prior to the German occupation of the city, and the painting seemingly vanished in April 1944. Milan-based art dealers Marco Voena and Fabrizio Moretti approached Sotheby’s about selling the work in 2009, but research into its provenance revealed it was on lists of Nazi-looted artworks.

No matter what anybody tells you, words and ideas can change the world.

We don’t read and write poetry because it’s cute. We read and write poetry because we are members of the human race. And the human race is filled with passion. And medicine, law, business, engineering, these are noble pursuits and necessary to sustain life. But poetry, beauty, romance, love, these are what we stay alive for.
